- Pulmonary Infections
Cause due to the inhalation of droplets containing Mycobacterium tuberculosis . Primary TB is asymptomatic, but secondary TB produces constitutive symptoms (fatigue, weight loss, fever, night sweats, and a productive cough with hemoptysis (blood stained sputum). Treatment with antibiotics.
Infection through many different bacteria, most common Streptococcus pneumonia. Symptoms include; a difficulty in breathing, fever, rapid heartbeat, loss of appetite, alternate shivering and sweating, pain in chest, productive cough. Treatment with antibiotics and respiratory support.
Causes Mycoplasma pneumoniae, viruses (influenza, RSV, adenovirus), Chlamydia psittaci, Coxiella burnetii, Legionella pneumophila. Symptoms include; malaise, fever, muscle aches, and occasional cough. Treatment, antibiotics and supportive care.
