Type I, IgE mediated hypersensitivity causing vasodilation, visceral smooth muscle contraction, vascular permeability and tissue inflammation, Anaphylactic shock. Type II; Antibody-mediated hypersensitivity causing activation of complement cascade. Type III; Immune complex-mediated hypersensitivity causing activation of complement cascade. Type IV T-cell mediated delayed hypersensitivity causing inflammatory reaction. Treatment; antihistamines, corticosteroids, treatment of specific disease.
Body's immune system rejects what it considers a foreign body. May be immediate or some time after procedure. Symptoms include; failure of transplanted organ, feelings of being unwell, flu like symptoms. Treatment; immunosuppressants.
